My wife made me go to Hearing Solutions because she was tired of repeating herself. I was tired of having stuff thrown at me. So, at her encouragement (with a frying pan, chainsaw, big stick, etc) I called them up. I dropped in at the appointed time and in short order, was taken back to an office where the procedure of events was explained. This was done by a nice young lady who’s name I do not recall. I was there for hearing, not memory loss. After the briefing, I was taken to another room where a second young lady (nope, don’t remember) had the daunting task of inspecting and cleaning my ears out prior to some hearing tests. She confirmed that I was clogged up pretty bad, and proceeded to use some kind of water pick / turbo blaster / sonic vacuum to break that stuff loose. I think I set both those ladies back years in therapy when one ear canal full of 4 decades of crystallized stuff broke loose. Anyway, after that I was placed in a soundproof room and beeped at for awhile. Later, I was taken back to the office to be told that I was NOT ready for hearing aids yet!!! Now, these ladies could have taken me for a ride, because I went in there convinced that I was well past that threshold, but they didn’t. And they didn’t even charge me for the trauma I put them through! The only drawback to the whole thing, is now I have no excuse for pretending I can’t hear my wife. Time to go Christmas shopping at the jewelry store, I reckon….

I had not had my hearing checked in over 20 years so after being accused by my wife of ignoring her yet again, I looked for someone to give me an exam. I considered my last test to be worthless because it was not random – I could predict when tones would sound. I made an appointment with Molly at Hearing Solutions in Blairsville and hoped that the test would prove that I have not been ignoring my wife. The test was extraordinary! I sat in a soundproof booth and went through a series of sound and noise tests that measured not only my hearing levels but also my brain’s ability to understand what it was hearing. That’s right – I learned that the brain plays a very important role in a person's ability to understand conversation and filter noise out. The results were graphed so it was hard to argue that my hearing had indeed deteriorated in 64 years. Molly explained everything very thoroughly and patiently. I was fitted with some Oticon hearing aids that are very impressive. They interact with an app on my iPhone using Bluetooth, can execute IFTTT routines, are very comfortable, are not unattractive but one of the things that I like the best is that they are rechargeable. If you are having hearing challenges, go see Molly because she really knows her stuff and will work with you to improve your quality of life by improving your hearing.

I was lucky enough to reach Julie (Kraft) who was gracious enough to invite me in that same afternoon! I met with Molly who provided a thorough hearing test then made the repairs and reprogrammed my 9 year old hearing aids. They work as well as when they were brand new. Molly also offered for me to test newer technology hearing aids for a week. The new technology is amazing and I will definitely purchase this type of device when my current aids begin to fail. If I was still working and having meetings in crowded or noisy locations I would buy the newer technology now. With my existing aids working well, again, I cannot justify the price for the new aids at this time. In addition to excellent professional service, Molly was a delight to meet and chat with. She is very friendly and personable and her personality makes you feel that you are visiting with a good friend instead of a doctor.

Went there in January because they sent me a flyer. So glad I did. I had my old hearing aids for 8 years. Molly was very easy to work with and very thorough in my testing and explanation of my issues and options. I went with the Oticon brand. I have an android phone so it does not Bluetooth pair with the hearing aids. The let me try a device that would bridge between my phone and hearing aids for free for two weeks. What a great piece of gear, I hear everything from my phone through my hearing aids now: Music, videos and phone calls. I also had an issue with my insurance company not wanting to cover the claim. Well after 7 months and 5 submissions of the claim and with Julie getting on the phone with the insurance company I will be covered now. That would be worth an extra star if I could give one. I love my hearing aids! But since they take some getting used-to, I’ve had a couple of times where I’ve needed in-person help with them. In spite of the Covid 19 difficulties, Julie was there, with mask on, to help while I remained in my car, the first time I had a problem. The second time I needed help, Molly, also in a mask, saw me in the office and helped to work out the trouble I was experiencing. I can’t say enough in praise of the professionalism, proficiency, and genuine friendliness of the the staff at Hearing Solutions in Blairsville. Went there in January because they sent me a flyer. So glad I did. I had my old hearing aids for 8 years. Molly was very easy to work with and very thorough in my testing and explanation of my issues and options. I went with the Oticon brand. I have an android phone so it does not Bluetooth pair with the hearing aids. The let me try a device that would bridge between my phone and hearing aids for free for two weeks. What a great piece of gear, I hear everything from my phone through my hearing aids now: Music, videos and phone calls. I also had an issue with my insurance company not wanting to cover the claim. Well after 7 months and 5 submissions of the claim and with Julie getting on the phone with the insurance company I will be covered now. That would be worth an extra star if I could give one. If you are in or around Union County Georgia then this is the place to go for your hearing aids.

We discussed my concerns regarding my hearing. She was an attentive listener. Her explanations were concise as well as clear. The exam was thorough and precisely administered.
